Labster, a collection of virtual science labs spanning disciplines from exercise science to spectrophotometry (yes, that’s a real word), has a new look at Loyola! While the ever-growing catalog of simulations is still available, the workflow for adding and accessing simulations is new. Labster previously integrated with the Sakai Lessons tool and required ITRS intervention to upload simulations to a course; it now works with the Assignments tool and has a more flexible, DIY-friendly workflow. If faculty find that their students need more practice with a certain set of lab techniques, or they need to replace a face-to-face lab with a virtual experience, they can add simulation assignments to their course on the fly.
Assigning a simulation is a two-step process: First, add the Labster US tool to the course. Then, create a simulation assignment. Need more help? Register for a Meet the New Labster info-session.
